Printed in rich maroon, brown, and green tones, the front displays the profile portrait of King George V wearing the Imperial Crown of India at right, balanced by the identical watermark to the left. Serial numbers are placed at upper right and lower left, while the reverse features multiple language panels surrounding the denomination at centre.This particular note was issued for the Calcutta branch. As the long-standing administrative capital of British India, Calcutta held strategic political and economic importance.
