On the reverse of the note is the GRI monogram and a panel of note's denomination in 8 Indian languages, depicting the multicultural milieu of India, which continues to the modern day. The prefix 'B' denotes that this 2/8 rupee note was specifically from Bombay, with other prefixes indicating other areas.
