Description

Ultra Rare UNC 2 Rupees, 8 AnnasPick 2 - Tied for Finest KnownINDIA. British Administration. 2 Rupees, 8 Annas, ND (1917). P-2. Calcutta. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.(3.3.1A-G) A special note that is rare in any state of preservation. This piece is certainly the finest we have handled and shows with the color and detail expected of an Uncirculated note. Sharp inks produce nice contrast throughout and deeply embossed overprints attest to the original paper. There are well over 60 of these pieces certified by PMG, yet, this is tied for finest graded among a few others. It's worth noting PMG comments "Good Embossing" which further indicates it's likely one of the nicer of the finer graded note. PMG also comments "Pinholes" which as seasoned collectors will note, is common for the type and to be expected. We estimate the note according to it's rarity and the likeliness that it will either complete, or upgrade even most of the legendary Indian collections.Estimate: $20,000 - $25,000.
