A monster rarity for this specimen type, as just four are listed on PMG's population report. We have yet to handle this type in our lengthy auction history, so expect a hard fought battle to take this treasure home. Bold green and yellow hues help pop the intricate design details on the obverse. Emanating from the dual "500" underprints is a neat red/yellow rayed design. This variety shows with "SPECIMEN" printed across the face of the note diagonally where the ever popular "Elephant" vignette can be seen. The reverse is printed in dark green ink, and displays a ship at center with bank name at top & bottom. 500 counters can be seen at opposing ends encased within an intricate geometrically lathed design.
