Incredible Rarity - A Significant OpportunityBRITISH INDIA. Commercial Bank, Calcutta. 5 Sicca Rupees, ND (1819-31). P-S166Ap1. Front Proof. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.Jhun & Rez 1A.4.1.1. Perkins, Fairman, & Heath. Calcutta. This extraordinary opportunity for collectors features one of the greatest notes from British India's Commercial Bank. This front proof is one of only two known examples, the other tightly held in the Rezwan Razak Museum of Indian Paper Money in Bangalore, India. This is the only graded example in PMG's population report. An anomaly of preservation as it has survived about 200 years and still retains it's complete originality. This note last surfaced at Central States in 2020 selling for $20,4000. It opens far lower than that in a much hotter market. We anticipate spirited bidding as this note will likely disappear into a prestigious collection once crossing the block.Estimate: $20,000 - $30,000.
