Description
French India. Banque de l'Indochine. 5 Roupies, ND (1946). P-5b. Jhun&Rez 13.2.2. PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58.Tied for the finest graded example on the PMG population report, this lovely note issued by the Banque de l'Indochine is among the many attractive notes to be issued by the French in their various colonies. President & Directeur General Adjoint signature titles. Marianne on the face at the left and the back shows a traditional dancer, four faces of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, and a scene from the Bayon temple complex. An incredible opportunity as these are usually found in abysmal quality due to the environmental conditions of the region. PMG Pop 2/None Finer. Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000.
