A portrait note bearing the scarce Madras place name of issue. Incidentally, this note is remarkably close to the consecutive pair sold by another auction house in which the serial numbers font S/53 681682 and S/53 681683 differ in size. It would appear that the font size on this note is the same as the font found on 681683 which is strange. Rare and an enigma.
