Sensational PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58 Two Rupees Eight AnnasINDIA. Government of India. 2 Rupees 8 Annas, ND (1917). P-2.(3.3.1A-G) A special note that is rare in any state of preservation. This piece is certainly the finest we have handled and shows with the color and detail of an Uncirculated note. Sharp inks produce nice contrast throughout and deeply embossed overprints attest to the original paper. A single vertical center fold is mentioned along with some very light foxing marks which are only observed when the note is back lit. The last we handled for the denomination was a PMG Very Fine 25 note which had missing corners and brought $3,642.00 as lot 20163 in our August 2012 ANA sale.
