PORTUGUESE INDIA. Banco Nacional Ultramarino. 5 Rupias, 1.1.1924. P-25s. Jhun&Rez 12.15.1. Specimen. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.The lowest denomination of this design in the series, which no longer displays a vignette of a tiger on the front, but instead has a view of the Saptakoteshwar Temple in Goa. A tiger running through tall grass is shown on the back. While perhaps not as dramatic as the 1 and 2 1/2 Rupias, this is still an attractive and desirable example in specimen. As with the other notes in this set, it features a red 'SPECIMEN' overprint and an inked specimen number in the upper right corner. Some mounting remnants are seen on this example as well, although on this denomination, they are very minimal and do little to distract from the overall attractiveness of this note. PMG comments "Previously Mounted."Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000.
