INDIA - PRINCELY STATES. Government of Hyderabad. 100 Rupees, 1920-1928. P-S266a. Jhun&Rez 7.10.4. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.Serial number PS91546. Unsigned. A note that matches the serial number range lost in the shipwreck of the S.S. Egypt but without the rubber stamp typically seen on notes from this wreck. The S.S. Egypt wrecked in the Celtic Sea in 1922 after a collision with another ship. Besides a valuable cargo of gold and silver it also carried freshly printed Hyderabad notes in denominations of 5, 10 and 100 Rupees produced by Waterlow & Sons in London. The notes were recovered in 1932 at a depth of 400 feet. For obvious reasons shipwrecked notes don't appear on the market very often, making this example of particular interest. 編號與S.S.
