Description

FRENCH INDIA. Banque de l'Indochine. 1 Roupie, 8.9.1945. P-4d. Jhun&Rez 13.1.7a. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.Just a faint bit on stray ink is the only comment from the grading service on this challenging type from French India, dating back to the 1940s. All paper money from French India is rare above Very Fine and even this Choice Very Fine 35 graded example is much nicer than typically seen for this type. A look at the PMG population report reveals that a small number grade finer, and most grade lower than the present piece. An important opportunity for the French Colonial or Indian specialist. This is the variety with two crosses in the guilloche on the back. PMG Comments "Ink."Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000.
