British India, Victoria Empress, Cancelled, Uniface 100 Rupees , Calcutta Circle, Dated 8 Jan 1879, Signed by Stephen Jacob, 'CANCELLED' stamped multiple times in black ink with cut signature and Cancellation holes, handwritten in black ink at the left side 'Cancel. 14/9/82' that indicates it was cancelled on 14-9-1882, Green Underprint, O Prefix, S. No. O96 44006, (KJ & RR # 2A.5.1A.4), holes, folds, stains, torn, about fine, Exceedingly Rare Note: This high denomination banknote from the Victorian period has managed to survive for about 140 years from the time of its issue, it was cancelled which is noted from the cross-stamps and punched holes. It bears its cancellation date 14-9-1882 handwritten in black ink. An important offering for the collectors.
