Description
British India, 1947, King George VI, 5 Rupees, Bundle of 97 Notes, Signed by C.D. Deshmukh , Burma Overprint, "BURMA CURRENCY BOARD LEGAL TENDER IN BURMA ONLY", Serial number in Black, R Prefix, S. No. R33 159301 to R33 159397, (KJ & RR # 5.14.1), stains, pin hole rust, otherwise almost uncirculated, Extremely Rare. Note: Non-overprint bundles of King George VI have appeared in auctions in the past but this is the first time we are offering banknotes with the text “Burma Currency Board, Legal Tender in Burma Only”. Even though there are 3 banknotes missing from it, it is still very valuable as this is considered amongst the rarest in this series. This is an extremely rare T opportunity for advanced collectors.
