The Haj Pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia was and is a religious trip mandatory for Muslims to undertake once in their life if they are capable. The Reserve Bank of India issued two special banknotes for Indian Muslims to take on their pilgrimage for use within Saudi Arabia. A bright blue 10 Rupees and a red 100 Rupees were printed to be exchanged for Saudi Riyals and then remitted back to India via Saudi banks. Print totals were small and virtually all were exchanged and therefore removed from circulation. To date, at the time of cataloging, PMG has graded a mere 15 examples of this 100 Rupees banknote. Notice the "HA" prefix which further differentiates it from the normal 100 Rupees banknotes circulating in India. We have not offered this type in the past, making this an important opportunity to acquire a very rare type that appeals to collectors worldwide. Typical staple holes at issue are mentioned for accuracy, along with some spindle holes seen in the middle of the banknote.
