Description Uncommon Denomination In Outstanding Grade India Government of India, Calcutta 2 Rupees, 8 Annas ND (1917) Pick 2 Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 3.3.1A-G PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 . India's curious and seldom seen 2 Rupees 8 Annas note is a middle denomination in the Government of India's series of notes. This type was possibly issued to bridge the gap between small denominations, or to give the public a new note to use as silver was hoarded during World War I. Whatever the case may be, this note was issued across major cities, which are identified by the prefix letter. This Calcutta issue is exemplary in originality, as it was saved in Uncirculated condition. A small hole and evenly toned paper are mentioned for accuracy. One of the most famous of all Indian paper notes and one missing from many high grade collections. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64。 View Certification Details from PMG
