Two beautiful uniface Proofs are offered in this lot for a fantastic 19th-century banknote. At the time of writing, PMG has graded only seven issued examples and one set of Proofs, which is offered here. The majority of design elements are seen on this set of prototypes. A tear and some stains are mentioned for accuracy on this nearly 170 year old set of Proofs. The printed colors are bright and fresh, and all design elements are on full display. Notice the impressive vignette on the front Proof with an elephant and rhinoceros flanking Britannia at center. Extremely rare, unusual, and most likely missing from nearly all relevant collections.
