Description India Reserve Bank of India 2 Rupees ND (1943) Pick 17c Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 4.2.3 PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ . A desirable and rare type, these were issued for only one year, in 1949, to facilitate commerce while the new Dominion of India banknotes were being prepared. This variety can be easily recognized by the red serial number used in lieu of black. The "H" prefix was the only one used for the red ink variety. At the time of cataloging, this example is tied with one other banknote atop the PMG Population Report. Rare, especially in this top grade. The typical staple holes at issue are mentioned.
