Description

Description India Government of India, Cawnpore 100 Rupees ND (1917-30) Pick 10j2 Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 3.10.2E-F PMG Very Fine 25 . A rarely-seen high denomination type, this is only the second we have offered. Banknotes issued from the Cawnpore branch of the Government of India are scarce in any grade, and are desirable as such. Typical spindle holes are seen on this otherwise pretty example, featuring King George V. Although the Standard Catalog attributes this denomination to the range of 1917 to 1930, this type was not issued until 1927, and was not supplemented until the King George VI 100 Rupees of 1938.
