Bank of Bengal banknotes are very rarely seen today, as they are obsolete by more than 150 years. A high denomination note, convertible to a sizeable fortune in gold and silver coinage, which again would have forced the redemption of nearly all examples. The banknote offered has been cut cancelled. Additionally, due to the frailty of the paper, the note has been extensively repaired, reconstructed, redrawn and annotations are mentioned. Nevertheless, most details are visible and this example can now be enjoyed by a new generation of collectors. Very rare and seldom seen.
