Description

Description Burma Government of India 5 Rupees ND (1937) Pick 1a. While the British administration has issued notes for Burma under the authority of the Government of India since 1897, all previous notes had a place of issue, Rangoon, for the notes. As this new design featuring King George V did not have a place for a city, the "Legal Tender in Burma Only" clause was added. This variety has the overprint in the margins. Colors and paper remain choice and appear much better than its stated grade. PMG Choice Very Fine 35 Net , staple holes at issue, rust, spindle hole. View Certification Details from PMG
