Description

Description India Reserve Bank of India, Calcutta 1000 Rupees ND (1954-57) Pick 46b Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 6.9.1B Fine . The sheer buying power of this denomination in the 1950s ensured that the vast majority did not survive to be enjoyed by collectors today. Also, there were limited production totals printed for each city of issue. For instance, this note was issued through Calcutta, and as such, only features prefix "H". Examples are rare in any grade, and desirable. Ink stamps, holes, tears, and missing bits are mentioned, all of which are commonplace, as this large size note was printed on thin paper. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason. From the Red Ox Collection View all of [The Red Ox Collection ]
