Description India Reserve Bank of India 5 Rupees ND (1943) Pick 23b Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 4.4.2 PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ . Red serial numbers are seen on this rare issue, featuring a front-facing King George VI in regal garb and crown. Issued in 1947, this is the last banknote issued for British India. The red serial number 2 Rupees was actually issued in 1949 out of necessity due to a lack of small denomination banknotes.
