Burma, George VI, Rupees 5, 1945, signed C. D. Deshmukh, ‘Legal Tender in Burma Only' over- overprint in centre, with two blue rubber stamps BURMA NOTES / PAYMENT REFUSED (J&R 5.14.1). Fine+, Rare. Usually the entire overprint of the note is tampered so that it can be camouflaged and presented to the banks. But in this instance only the top line ‘Burma Currency Board’ has been tampered with and the below two lines are left as is.
