High denomination banknotes from French India are virtually unseen in the marketplace today, and when they do appear, most are overprint cancelled. This incredible 50 Roupies of 1915 was fully issued, moderately circulated, and taken from circulation without being cancelled. A purple ink smudge and pinholes are mentioned for accuracy on this otherwise splendid example. At the time of writing, this is the only example graded in the PMG Population Report .
