Karachi circle. A high denomination type with the portrait of King George VI that was issued at the Karachi branch of the Reserve Bank of India in modern-day Pakistan. While this type was not the highest denomination issued (a 10,000 Rupees exists) it is the highest denomination most collectors can hope to acquire as the 10,000 Rupees is very rare and seldom becomes available. Due to its considerable spending power the 1000 Rupees is not commonly available either, and while this example is not problem-free, it still carries good visual appeal and should be of strong interest to advanced collectors of British India. The fact that it was issued at the Karachi office should make it even more appealing to collectors of the Indian subcontinent.
