PORTUGUESE INDIA. 30 to 1,000 Escudos, 2.1.1959. P-42 to 46.6 pieces in lot. All punch hole canceled. A great complete denominational set of these challenging notes. The 30 Escudos shows a large hole cancel at left and right with four smaller spindle holes throughout the note as well, Very fine. The 60 Escudos shows with a single vertical fold and some handling with a large punch cancel at top center and notations in the margins. The 100 Escudos shows with two large hole cancels at the left and right and is a VF. The 300 Escudos has two large punch cancels and is otherwise Uncirculated. The 600 Escudos note exhibits two hole cancels and even circulation for a VF grade. The 1,000 Escudos note is EF with a pair of hole cancels and notations in the margins. A tear at the top center is also observed.Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Very Fine
