Burma Currency Board, George VI, Rupees 5, Tampered as the standard "Burma Currency Board" and "Burma Only" overprints are missing, Type 5.10.2, Signed C.D. Deshmukh, Prefix F/11 (Jhun# 5.14.1). About very fine, rare. Genuine notes issued by the Burma Currency Board for use specifically in Burma typically featured these overprints to differentiate them from Indian currency. Often, the legend "Legal Tender in Burma Only" accompanied either the "Burma Currency Board" or "Military Administration of Burma" overprint. The absence of both these crucial legends strongly suggests their intentional removal. Furthermore, the presence of a rubber stamp on a "Burma Note" often indicates refusal for payment by a bank. Also added are the 3 red crosses to prevent the note to be presented for encashment.
