Archival Note. Exceedingly rare. According to Great Scholar Sri Kishore Jhunjhunwalla this is Progressive Proof Watermark Portrait Notes of Queen Victoria. As per Indian Paper Money book of Sri Kishore Jhunjhunwalla details given on page 62 about Watermark is quoted here. “Usually the notes in this category have paper manufacturers code as part of the watermark, it is located towards the bottom end and is represented as an alphabet and 2 separate number of two digits each, the three place apart. The alphabet represents the plate number. The first of the two digit numbers stands for the number of week in which the paper was made and the second number represent the year of manufacture. For example, A 27 03 would mean that the paper was manufacture using plate A in the 27th week of Year (19)03”. In Present Watermark Note absence of Plate number suggest this as a Progressive Proof according to Sri Jhunjhunwallaji. A very important and archival Note for serious Bank note collectors.
